The Central Library of Hassiba Benbouali University in Chlef, established in 1998, has steadily expanded its collections to encompass a wide range of disciplines. Today, its documentary resources include diverse media and specialized materials, serving the academic and research needs of the university community.

The University of Chlef has 9 faculties, 2 institutes, and 2 annexes: the Annex of the Higher School of Teachers in Chlef and the Annex of Medicine. The Central Library provides students with access to national and international electronic catalogs, platforms, and databases to support their research .
OPAC UHBC is an electronic catalog used for bibliographic research of books and documents in the university’s libraries. It supports universal protocols for cataloging large amounts of digitized information. In our PMB system, each faculty has its own space where its documents and copies are stored and managed.
DSPACE is an Open Archive, a data warehouse in which are deposited and stored documentary resources from scientific research and education, access to which is intended to be open .
DSPACE serves as an institutional open-access repository and digital archive, designed for the preservation and dissemination of scientific and educational resources. At Hassiba Benbouali University of Chlef, DSPACE integrates the scholarly output of the academic community, including proceedings of congresses, conferences, and colloquia; defended doctoral theses, Magister and Master II dissertations; research laboratory publications; as well as links to academic journals and pedagogical materials.
The National Online Documentation System (SNDL) constitutes a strategic infrastructure designed to ensure access to a vast corpus of national and international electronic documentation encompassing the full spectrum of educational and scientific research domains..
Access is organized into two distinct categories:
– General Access: Granted without restriction to students, teacher-researchers, and permanent researchers within university campuses and affiliated research centers.
– Advanced Research Access: Reserved for teacher-researchers, permanent researchers, postgraduate students (PhD and Magister), final-year engineering students, and Master II students. While this category is accessible irrespective of location, it requires prior acquisition of an individual account
IQRAA is an Algerian digital platform containing a vast database of more than 1600 academic works in the four disciplines and national scientific conferences with the constant supply of this base.
The Central Library administers a structured archiving system for Master II theses, systematically classified by academic specialty and year of defense. Consultation of this repository is exclusively available through the library’s local network.
Students are required to present their student card to enter the library and access its services. The card also functions as a borrowing card. The lending process is fully digital, and the card is returned once the transaction is validated in the system.
According to the Sanctions Section of the Library’s Internal Regulations, any lost or damaged document must either be replaced with the same original and complete edition or reimbursed as follows:
The redemption of the document in its original and integral version, or:
Reimbursement at the rate of 03 times the public price of the publisher for the student (LMD, Master, Doctorate), 05 times the price for the teacher.

Enter your username or the email address used during your initial registration at the library or laboratory, along with the anti-spam code. A reset link will be sent to your email. Follow the link and set a new password according to the system’s instructions
Theses are not available for borrowing.
Magister and Doctorate theses: Consultation is possible in the Central Library reading room upon presentation of a student card.
License and Master II dissertations: Consultation is possible in the faculty library reading room upon presentation of a student card.
Downloading: Magister and Doctorate theses defended at the university are available in PDF format through the institutional repository DSpace.
Students from other universities must present a library access authorization signed by the responsible authority of their home library. This document is required to access the collections of UHBC university libraries.
